In a grizzly end to a class trip, a 62-year-old tour guide plunged to his death on Thursday while leading a group of students in a hike through the Golan Heights. According to reports, the guide fell from a height of 8 meters and hit his head upon impact. Unconscious, he then slid into a nearby stream and drowned. The incident occurred at 10:45 a.m. on a trail which bordered the Nahal Haziz stream. Police from a rescue unit and Magen David Adom paramedics quickly arrived on the scene and tried to resuscitate the man, but their attempts were unsuccessful.
