Tourism to Israel increases by 31% in February

Incoming tourism into Israel increased by 31 percent in February, compared with the same time last year, reaching 145,200 visitors entering the country during that month. According to figures released on Sunday by Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics and Ministry of Tourism, Israel experienced a 24% rise in foreign visitors during the first two months of the year. Increases were registered in the number of visitors arriving by air, land and sea. Tourism Minister Avraham Hirchson said the goal of bringing three million tourists to the country this year is attainable. He asserted that continuing efforts to ease air transport arrangements and ongoing marketing abroad will contribute to the positive tourism trend and provide Israelis with employment.
