UN secretary-general calls on Hamas to stop rocket attacks on Israel

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon condemned the shooting of rockets against Israel on Wednesday night, calling on Hamas to discontinue the attacks immediately, Israel Radio reported.
"The secretary-general is concerned with the escalation of violence in the Gaza Strip and calls on all sides to secure the return of the quiet to the area, to alleviate the situation of Gaza residents and to allow the transfer of humanitarian aid," a statement released by the UN read.
