One person was killed and two were wounded Wednesday overnight when a car exploded and burned in the Krayot near Haifa, in an apparent underworld assassination. The incident occurred at approximately 2 a.m. Following the explosion, the vehicle hit a car parked on the roadside. Firefighters rushed to the scene, and the two wounded men - one in moderate condition and the other with light injuries only - were evacuated to a hospital to receive medical treatment. Police later found remains of a bomb in the vehicle, and said the incident was apparently criminally motivated. The three men, in their thirties, have a criminal record. The scene of the incident was closed down by police and traffic was diverted to alternate routes.
