The attorney who police cleared of having sexual relations with a 13-year-old boy was named Monday as Ari Shamai. He is still suspected of possessing dangerous drugs, including 15 grams of cocaine and Hagigat hallucinogen pills police found in his home. Shamai, a well known attorney who represented Yigal Amir in his 2006 appeal to allow him to artificially inseminate Larissa Trimbobler, petitioned against the court-imposed media ban on releasing his identity to the public, along with the fact that police no longer suspect him of sexual felonies against a minor. The court lifted the ban early Monday afternoon. Shamai was recently arrested along with some 10 other men, including a senior media editor and a leading physiologist, on suspicion of using the Internet to lure a 13-year-old boy into having sexual relations with them.
