It appears that lessons from the Second Lebanon war regarding the media were learned in Operation Cast Lead, Winograd Committee chairman Judge (ret.) Eliyahu Winograd said on Wednesday evening.
"Senior officers didn't leak information, the ban on bringing phones into the Gaza Strip was fully implemented, and the former Chief of Staff's [problematic] policy of 'feeding' the media… was abandoned," said Winograd at a conference marking one year to the Winograd Report.
Also speaking at the conference was committee member Ruth Gabizon, who warned against Israeli arrogance toward its enemies.
"One must realize that we face an obstinate foe that will not easily succumb nor flee every time we gesture," she said.
