US Jewish leaders urge Netanyahu to advance peace process
More than 150 prominent American Jews pen letter to PM expressing support for Kerry, peace deal based on two-state solution.

More than 150 Jewish leader in the United States sent a letter Wednesday extending support for Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and urging him to advance talks with the Palestinians in order to reach a peace agreement."Mr. Prime Minister, at this pivotal moment of decision-making, we offer our support and encouragement as you move forward to pursue a lasting agreement that will protect Israel’s security as a homeland for the Jewish people," read the letter delivered by the Israel Policy Forum advocacy group.The self-proclaimed "American advocates for a strong, Jewish and democratic Israel" expressed their staunch support for US Secretary of State John Kerry's diplomatic push in the region.Kerry's "effort offers an unprecedented opportunity to ensure Israel’s security, to enhance its prosperity, and to avoid the existential threat to the Jewish state posed by bi-nationalism," stated the letter endorsed by 152 signatories.The letter also conveyed hope for a reciprocal Palestinian response to an Israeli push for progressing negotiations."By moving forward at this time, we believe that the Palestinian leadership will be challenged to make important compromises, to end incitement and to demonstrate a genuine preparedness to live in peace alongside the nation-state of the Jewish people," it stated.
