The Israeli technology company Ituran recently installed 150,000 of its “Ituran SOS” road-accident sensors that identify minor or major accidents and immediately send an alert to a 24/7 control center.
After notification, the center contacts the customer to check if immediate help or medical assistance is necessary. Ituran SOS identifies accidents and the location of the vehicle, forwarding the call to emergency and rescue services when needed.
The Ituran system assists drivers during the first moments after an accident, when those involved are often confused, agitated and helpless in the middle of a busy road, or unable to respond. The system accompanies the driver at various moments, including clarification of the situation, a potential rescue, calling emergency services, advice on which information to take from the other driver involved in the accident and more.
