1. DARK AND BLOODY Tim Burton’s comedy Dark Shadows is based on the 1960s cult favorite daytime soap opera of the same name. Blood is featured prominently in this new version, which focuses on the character of Barnabas Collins (Johnny Depp), an 18thcentury vampire who is set free to return to today’s world. Also starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Eva Green.

2. A POINT OF VIEW Israeli-born choreographer Yasmin Vardimon and her company come to the Tel Aviv Opera as part of the International Dance Series with her newest work, 7734, an exploration of human weaknesses and strengths, perspectives and hope.

3. Sweden’s Göteborg Ballet will perform its take on the Bolero, entitled 3xBolero, at the Tel Aviv Opera. The evening presents three different visions of the Bolero by three acclaimed Nordic choreographers.

4. MEMORIES OF TANGIERS “The Jews of Tangiers” is an exhibition of drawings by French Orientalist Alfred Dehodencq (1822–1882), who traveled frequently to Tangiers between 1853 and 1863. In his work, Dehodencq explored the everyday life of the Jewish community.

5. BEAUTIFUL HARMONIES It is time to climb up to Kiryat Ye’arim in Abu Ghosh for the semi-annual Vocal Music Festival of Shavuot. Among the highlights of this year’s festival is the virtuoso Georgian male chorus group, the Tbilisi Ensemble.

6. THE GOSPEL International gospel-jazz vocal artist Tecora Rogers will be the Music Treasures series guest for Shavuot. 7. CLOWNS AND MONSTERS The Forman Brothers Circus Theater presents the best of alternative Czech theater as part of the Israel Festival and the Czech cultural season. Sons of famed Hollywood director Milos Forman, Mathieu and Peter offer a new kind of cabaret circus, challenging our world of consumerism and bringing back to the stage a more naïve lost world.

SPORTS8. CLIMB HIGH The first of its kind in Israel, Stairs Race will be held in Haifa tomorrow. Runners will start at the lower part of the city and run all the way up 1,075 stairs to the Carmel, through Haifa’s three-kilometer route. A special Everest climb race will be held tonight.

10. NOT SO SLOW Veteran progressive band Tortoise will debut in Tel Aviv next week as part of its European tour.
