This year, the festival celebrates Ger-Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta and Massenet’s Don Quichotte, as well as Mahler’s Symphony No. 9, with the Marinsky Opera choir, orchestra and solo singers. Jamaican Sounds
Opening this year’s Jazz in the Mishkan series, pianist Monty Alexander and his trio, drummer Obed Calvaire and bassist Dezron Douglas, make their Israeli debut, bringing Jamaican rhythm-infused jazz to Tel Aviv on Friday, January 17 at 10 p.m. Alexander will also hold a masterclass on January 16 at 5 p.m.
