A district court has upheld a fine of NIS 120,000 for a company that dumped building waste in an open block of land in Herzliya, reports www.local.co.il. The court also upheld a fine of NIS 40,000 for the company's head, NIS 15,000 for the company's work manager and fines of NIS 7,000 to 8,500 for the truck drivers who did the dumping. According to the report, the unidentified company was first charged in 2002 with dumping building waste in an open area of Herzliya. A local court fined the company, its managers and the drivers, and company lawyers appealed to the district court, saying that what had been dumped was not building waste but clean soil. The district court rejected the argument and upheld all the fines.
