Roots laid for Teva Forest

The giant Teva pharmaceutical company has officially launched its plans to plant a 1,000-dunam forest in the Negev desert, reports www.local.co.il. The company, which has promised to donate NIS 1.8 million to plant 100,000 trees over the next three years in the new Teva Forest, officially set the project underway at a festive ceremony at the planned site, in the area of the Dvira Forest 15 minutes' drive from Beersheba. The project is being jointly planned with the Jewish National Fund, and aims to provide a place for relaxation and leisure for residents of the Negev and visitors.
