Apartment building plan on hold after objections

The area is currently home to spacious private houses.

Herzliya's Planning and Construction Committee recently approved the building of a 15-unit apartment complex on Rehov Wingate in upmarket Herzliya Pituah, but now has changed its mind after residents and some councilors have raised objections, reports www.local.co.il. The area is currently home to spacious private houses. According to the report, three councilors from western Herzliya left the ruling coalition after the Local Planning and Construction Committee, headed by Mayor Yael German, approved the construction of the 15 units on two adjoining blocks of land. Last week, after hearing the councilors' and residents' objections, the committee changed its mind, and now will recommend to the District Planning and Construction Committee that it heed the objections.
