Limp finish for planned Tel Aviv orgy

After weeks of organizing, Tel Aviv's first mass orgy has been cancelled following the leak of its planned location to the media, reports www.mynet.co.il. Some 250 people had signed up as participants in the event, which was being organized by the Raelian religious movement as part of its International Day of the Orgasm. According to the report, movement spokesman Kobi Drori said the day was aimed at bringing about world peace through one mass climax, and the orgy was open to anyone, of any sexual inclination, over the age of 18. The report said the event was to have been held at an unidentified Tel Aviv reception center, but when the location was leaked to the media several hours before the orgy's scheduled starting time, the center's owner came under heavy pressure to cancel it. Drori said the cancellation would not stop the movement from holding other events, including another Day of the Orgasm next year. The report said the sexually liberal Raelian Movement, which was founded in France in the 1970s, has some 70,000 followers worldwide, including several hundred in Israel, and for the past 10 years has run an information booth every Friday in Tel Aviv's Rehov Sheinkin.
