Students at one Tel Aviv high school are embarking on a special project designed to raise awareness of the plight of the African refugees in the city and to help them with their daily needs, reports www.mynet.co.il. The project, the initiative of two 12th-grade boys, will see the students receiving lectures at school, meeting with refugees in south Tel Aviv, and helping them with basic necessities.
According to the report, the project aims to raise understanding of the catastrophes suffered by the refugees in their home countries and of the difficulties they face in Israel, assisting them with their basic requirements. Displays have been set up at school in preparation for the project, which officially begins on January 12.
