A Friday morning shootout between the Lebanese army and a group of suspects in the northern port city of Tripoli left one suspect dead and two wounded. A Lebanese security official said the shooting occurred in the mostly Sunni Bab el-Tabaneh neighborhood. A woman passer-by was also wounded. The official said the army was pursuing the suspects who were in a car and who opened fire, prompting the soldiers to shoot back. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to talk to the media. Soldiers later fanned out in the area and arrested 10 people. It wasn't immediately clear if the shooting was related to Islamic terrorists active in Tripoli. Two bus bombings recently killed 23 people there.
