3 UK medics hunger strike to protest Egypt decision to deny entry to Gaza
By JONNY PAUL
Three British medics began a hunger strike at the Rafah crossing on Tuesday in protest against the decision by Egypt to deny them entry into Gaza.
Egyptian authorities have denied pro-Palestinian activists, cardiologist Omar Mangoush, retired consultant Christopher Burns-Cox, who both call for a boycott of the Israel Medical Association, and nurse Kirsty Wong from entering Gaza at Rafah since May 4.
The solidarity with Gaza mission was organized by Manchester-based charity Palestine International Medical Aid.
The Rafah crossing has been closed by Egypt since Hamas took over Gaza in a coup in 2006.
