Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas met with Jordanian King Abdullah in Amman on Sunday, signing an agreement on "the defense of Jerusalem and the holy sites," official Palestinian News agency Wafa reported.PA Minister of Waqf and Religious Affairs Mahmoud Habash was quoted by Wafa as saying the agreement coordinates PA and Jordanian cooperation on the administering of the Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount as well as all other Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.He added that the agreement confirmed Jordan's historic role in caring for the religious sanctuaries. It also confirmed Palestian sovereignty over all of Palestine, including east Jerusalem as its capital, the minister said.
