Abbas asks top Fatah official to form government

PA presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudaineh said that PA President Mahmoud Abbas has asked Mohammed Shtayyeh to form a new government.

Mohammed Shtayyeh, a senior Fatah official, will head the new Palestinian Authority government.

PA presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudaineh said that PA President Mahmoud Abbas has asked Shtayyeh to form a new government.
Shtayyeh, member of the Fatah Central Council, will replace Rami Hamdallah, who submitted his resignation a few weeks ago.
Shtayyeh, an economist and academic, previously served as PA Minister of Housing.
