Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday accused Hamas of trying to seize control of Gaza by force, his office said.
"All information points to a trend in which some of the political and military leaders of Hamas are planning a coup against the legitimate institutions, thinking they will be able to control the Gaza Strip by force," Abbas's office said in a statement.
