Abbas in Madrid for talks on Gaza with Spanish king

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Spain Thursday, for talks on the Gaza conflict with King Juan Carlos and the country's prime minister. The Madrid government said Abbas was set to meet Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos during the day. He was also scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero at lunchtime and would see the king later in the evening. Abbas arrived in Spain on Thursday after a visit to the United Nations in New York. The king and Zapatero this week called for an immediate cease-fire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
