King Abdullah II has called for an immediate cease-fire in Lebanon and the Palestinian territories, Jordan's official Petra news agency said.
The king made the call during a meeting on Wednesday with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Amman.
Abdullah renewed his support for the Palestinian and Lebanese people in "these difficult circumstances."
He also pledged to "employ all of Jordan's capabilities to reach a cease-fire" and reduce suffering "due to the continued Israeli aggression."
