An Afghan provincial governor said four US troops were killed Sunday in a roadside bombing in eastern Afghanistan. There was no confirmation from the US military.
A remote-controlled mine exploded, hitting a convoy of American troops on patrol in the Watapur area of Kunar province, said Gov. Asadullah Wafa.
Lt. Mike Cody, a US military spokesman in Kabul, said he had no information about the reported incident.
