Arab armies will liberate Haifa, Safed, Jaffa, Lod, and Beit She’an, al-Aksa Mosque Imam Raed Al-Daana said at an Islamic conference in Milan, Italy.
“We will return to the sea of Jaffa, to the sands of Haifa, to the palm trees of Beit She’an, and to the hills of Lod and Ramle. We in the blessed al-Aksa Mosque await the legions of the conquerors. We await the armies from Tunisia, from Jordan, from Egypt, from Iraq, from the Maghreb, and from the Hijaz,” said Daana according to a report by MEMRI, the Middle East Media Research Institute.
The speech was aired on Al Jazeera TV on April 27.
Daana said that there are “great and proud men” in Gaza “who have realized that darkness and the Jewish state would vanish,” adding, “that morning, the sun will rise on Palestine.”
The imam went on to say that “we await a Muslim leader” that will appear with the “liberating armies in the al-Aksa courtyard.”
Al-Aksa Mosque has been involved with promoting extreme rhetoric before. In July last year, MEMRI reported about a demonstration in front of the mosque, which called for America, Britain and France to be destroyed.
“Allahu akbar, May America be destroyed,” chanted a man to the crowd.
After the man called for the destruction of Britain and France, the crowd chanted, “Oh Obama, listen up, the Caliphate shall return.”
A chant from Islamic tradition, which is used as a battle cry when attacking Jews or Israelis, was recited: “Khaybar Khaybar, ya Yahud, jaish Muhammad, sa Yahud,” meaning “Jews, remember Khaybar, the army of Muhammad is returning.”
