A letter penned to former president Barack Obama by the purported mastermind behind 9/11 surfaced Wednesday, bearing considerable mention of Israel and accusing the US of catalyzing the most deadly terror attacks on American soil.
In a copy of the 18-page letter dated January 2015 that was obtained and published by the Miami Herald on Wednesday, Guantanamo Bay prisoner Khalid Sheik Mohammed charged that the series of deadly 2001 al-Qaida attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people were conducted in retribution for decades of "oppressive" foreign policy.
According to the Miami Herald, the letter placed particular focus on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, accusing Obama of answering to the interests of "the occupier Jews." The document reportedly cites Israel 39 times while it only made a dozen mentions of al-Qaida founder Osama bin Laden.
Mohammed was arrested in Pakistan in 2003 and has been held at Guantanamo on terror-related charges since 2006 where he has reportedly been subjected to the harshest of CIA interrogation methods. He was later named in the US government's '9/11 Commission Report' as the "principle architect" of the attacks.

The newly-revealed document reportedly arrived at the White House days before Obama left office, after a military judge ordered the infamous US military prison in Cuba to deliver it despite previous objections by prison officials and prosecutors who downplayed as propaganda.
According to military attorney Marine Maj. Derek Poteet, Mohammed began drafting the letter in 2014 during the last major conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
“Your hands are still wet with the blood of our brothers and sisters and children who were killed in Gaza,” read the letter's opening statement.
In his alleged letter, the Pakistani terror detainee also rants about US foreign policy, including past intervention in Iraq, Iran, Vietnam and Hiroshima in an attempt to justify the horrific plane hijackings and attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon.
“It was not we who started the war against you in 9/11. It was you and your dictators in our land,” wrote the former al-Qaida operations chief to the successor of George W. Bush, who was president at the time of the attacks.
The letter addressed to the former US commander-in-chief also refers to Obama as "the head of the snake" and the leader of "the country of oppression and tyranny."
“I will be happy to be alone in my cell to worship Allah the rest of my life and repent to Him all my sins and misdeeds,” the detained terror operative also wrote.
