Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh said on Friday that the release of kidnapped IDF Cpl. Gilad Shalit is a "complicated, difficult issue," and would require much more work before a solution could be reached.
In an interview to Al-Hayat, Haniyeh also addressed the possibility of a Hamas-Fatah unity government, saying that his party and Fatah had worked long and hard toward a unity government. Haniyeh also expressed hope for a resolution to the current Hamas-Fatah clashes.
