Hebron: Palestinian Authority police burn drugs seized in raids

Palestinian Authority police burned drugs seized by security forces during months of West Bank raids in a public square in Hebron on Sunday. Police put the drugs - 55 kilograms of marijuana, cocaine and heroin taken from dealers in the city of Hebron- in a large container and set it on fire as bystanders watched. Officers wore paper masks as the drugs went up in smoke, sending fumes wafting through the streets. The drugs were collected over the last six months. Police said dozens of dealers were arrested. Hebron police commander Ramadan Awad said he didn't want any trace of the drugs remaining and that, in any case, the police had no place to store it.
