US President Donald Trump claimed that Iran has informed him that they are in a “state of collapse” as they figure out their leadership situation, in a post on Truth Social on Tuesday.

He added that Iran also wants the US to open the Strait of Hormuz “as soon as possible.”

On Monday, a US official told Reuters that Trump was unhappy with Iran’s latest proposed deal for ending the war because it did not address the issue of Iran’s nuclear program.

The Iranian proposal would delay the discussion of Iran’s nuclear program until the war, which is currently on hold due to a US-Iran ceasefire agreement,  is officially ended and the ongoing dispute over the Strait of Hormuz is solved.

According to the official, Trump wants the nuclear issue dealt with from the outset.

Iran using old sites, improvised oil storage to counter blockade

Iran is reportedly using old sites and improvised oil containers in order to avoid its oil infrastructure from being damaged by shutting down, The Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.

According to the report, Iran is using "junk storage," including improvised containers and old sites, to store excess oil it's still producing and refining at its facilities.

The report also notes that the regime is attempting to ship crude oil to China by rail, with the containers used in these shipments improvised as well.

This situation stems from the fact that the Iranian extraction and refining systems can't be shut down, with Kharg Island's infrastructure (where 90% of Iranian oil shipments are processed) at risk of failure if the oil flow is cut.

This is a developing story.
