Iran repeats interest in new Iraq talks with US

Iran's foreign minister repeated Monday his interest in pursuing US-Iranian talks over security in Iraq that began last month in Baghdad, the state broadcasting company reported. "Iran would consider further talks if Iraqi officials make a request for such talks," the web site of Iran's state television quoted Manouchehr Mottaki as saying in answer to a question about a possible other round of negotiations between Iran and the US in Baghdad. Mottaki said the talks could be held after assessing results of the first round of negotiations, which took place on May 28 in the Iraqi capital.
