Americans more concerned about Iran threat than Israelis, poll finds
The poll surveyed over 45,400 people over 40 different countries.

More Americans than Israelis perceive Iran as a top safety concern, according to a Pew Research Center survey released earlier this week, which asked participants across the globe to rank their greatest concerns facing the world today. The poll, which surveyed 45,435 people across 40 different countries, also found that most of those polled rated ISIS as a more ominous threat to safety and security than the Islamic Republic.According to the poll, 62 percent of Americans perceive Iran as a potential threat, followed by Israel [53%] and Spain [52%] in that order. Only 17% of Palestinians polled in the survey said that Iran was a major cause for concern. The poll also found that the Islamic State was a greater source of anxiety rather than Iran, with Lebanon ranking highest [84%], followed by South Korea [75%], Spain [77%] and finally the United States [68%].Color coded map displaying the greatest threats around the worldOnly 44% of Israelis listed ISIS as a direct threat. However, fear amongst Palestinians reached 64%, a clear signal that the Islamic State has had more of an impact on the territories as opposed to the Jewish State.The highest ranked concern in the survey was climate change, with almost half of all nations saying that the planet's well-being caused the most consternation, specifically in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa. Only 14% of Israelis listed climate change as a top concern.Cyber security ranked the lowest of all concerns amongst a majority of countries surveyed.
