Iraq: Suicide bomber kills 15 northeast of Baghdad

Iraqi officials say at least 15 people have been killed and 30 wounded when a suicide bomber struck a Kurdish funeral tent northeast of Baghdad. Col. Azad Issa, the director of a nearby police station, said the bomber detonated his explosives inside the tent in Jalula. Local Kurdish official Salahuddin Kekh confirmed the attack and casualty toll. Jalula has a volatile mix of Sunni Arabs and Kurds who have seen tensions rise over Kurdish territorial ambitions. It has been the site of several past bombings. Monday's blast occurred hours after eight people were killed and 10 wounded by a bomb west of the capital. The violence comes as Turkish President Abdullah Gul arrives Iraq for the first visit by a Turkish head of state in more than 30 years.
