Iraqi FM proposes more US-Iran talks

State TV says Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari proposed more talks between Iran and the United States over the security in Iraq. The report on Wednesday quotes Zebari as saying, "We are ready to hold another round of talks if the two countries agree." He said Iraqi government supports the talks however asked Iran and the US to do more for "trust-building." Iran and the United States have held three rounds of ambassador-level talks about the security situation in Iraq in 2007. US officials have accused Iran of providing weapons to both Sunni and Shiite extremist groups to attack US and Iraqi government forces. Iran denies the charges.
