Jordan's King Abdullah II said on Tuesday it was crucial for the Mideast that a solution was found to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict within the next two years, the official Petra news agency reported.
People in the region would not be able to live in security or peace if the issue was not resolved, said Abdullah on the sidelines of the InterAction Council, which opened Tuesday for a three-day meeting in a resort along the Dead Sea.
The Tokyo-based InterAction Council is an independent international body that gathers three dozen former heads of state or members of government. It meets annually to reflect on world issues and offer recommendations on a broad range of political, social and ethical problems.
