Israel is worried that Hezbollah might have created underground tunnels that reach across the border and into its territory.
Israel has stepped up its surveillance and dug into the ground over the past 10 days at various points along its border with Lebanon, according to a security sources quoted by the Lebanese Daily Star on Tuesday.
Israel fears that Hezbollah could resort to the same tactics that Hamas has used on its border with Gaza, where Israel recently discovered a tunnel stretching into the country.
Lebanese forces are closely watching Israel’s actions on the border.
Since the end of the 2006 war in Lebanon, Israel has set up a vast network of towers and cameras in order to spy on Lebanon, according to the report.
