A military prosecutor charged on Monday 16 suspects with plotting to carry out terrorist attacks, Lebanese judicial officials said.
The men were arrested in December 2007 and referred to a military court.
If convicted, they face a possible death sentence. The suspects include Lebanese, Saudis, Syrians and Palestinians.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to talk to the media.
Dozens of suspects have been arrested since the three-month-long fighting between the Lebanese army and Muslim extremists in the Palestinian refugee camp of Nahr el-Bared in northern Lebanon in the summer of 2007.
