Libyan NTC says government will be set up within 10 days
Oil production to resume within a few days; Muammar Gaddafi's son Saadi escapes to Niger; Guinnea-Bissau offers refuge to Gaddafi regime.

Libya's National Transitional Council (NTC) announced Sunday night that it would set up a new government within ten days, Israel Radio reported. The announcement followed a statement on Saturday that oil production would resume within three or four days.This came as Niger acknowledged Sunday evening that Muammar Gaddafi's son Saadi crossed the border into Niger and Guinea-Bissau offered refuge to members of the deposed Gaddafi regime who seek refuge, the report said.RELATED:Interpol issues arrest warrant for Libya's GaddafiAbove the Fray: Elections in Libya should be deferredLibya's interim oil and finance minister Ali Tarhouni said on Saturday that production will resume in three to four days and that the OPEC member country is set to reach full pre-war output levels within a year.Oil production in the North African country has been at a virtual standstill for months as violent clashes between rebels and forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi have raged near coastal terminals, causing damage to facilities and driving out foreign workers.
"On Tuesday or Wednesday we will start at Sarir and Mesla (oilfields). We also will produce gas and oil, not simultaneously, from Sharara and Wafa. We are looking at a difference of days," the interim leaders' top oil official Ali Tarhouni told reporters on an official visit to the country's export terminal of Brega.Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyah on Sunday called to congratulate the NTC on "the triumph of the revolution" while Fatah officials met with members of the NTC in Benghazi, according to the Israel Radio report.Click for full Jpost coverage of turmoil in the Middle East
