Nasrallah to make two appearances this week marking 2006 Lebanon War 'victory'

Hezbollah leader may use opportunity to refocus group's attention back to plight with Israel.

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah will give a TV interview Wednesday marking the “anniversary of the victory of the resistance over Zionist aggression” in the 2006 Lebanon war.
The terrorist group’s al- Manar TV website reported on Tuesday that he will also give a speech on Friday in the southern border town of Aita al- Shaab at a festival under the banner “The resistance is our decision.” He will make important announcements regarding recent developments in Lebanon and the region.
The report did not specify if Nasrallah would appear in person, but it seems most likely that the speech will be transmitted by video, as since the 2006 war Nasrallah has rarely ventured above ground for a speech.
Earlier this month he did make a surprise public appearance at an al-Quds Day speech, on the last Friday of Ramadan, in solidarity with the Palestinian struggle. Analysts saw the move as a measure that was taken in order to rally his party in the midst of the pressures the group is under.
Nasrallah said in that speech that the group would continue to shoulder its responsibility toward the Palestinian cause.
Hezbollah is under strong domestic pressure in Lebanon, as a result of its involvement in the war in Syria, where, along with Iran, it is supporting president Bashar Assad. The region is divided along sectarian lines, and the Sunni world is united against the group’s involvement in Syria.
