Palestinian Authority spokesman Ghazi Hamad said on Monday morning that he was in contact with the family of Gilad Shalit and that the kidnapped IDF soldier was in "good condition."
Hamad told Israel Radio that negotiations over securing Shalit's release were being continuously conducted, adding that the Palestinians needed to undergo serious soul searching as long as the present hardship in the Gaza Strip continued.
The PA spokesman said that the Palestinian official leadership and the different Palestinian factions had made grave errors which had brought about the current crisis.
