The Saudi religious police, or the Committee for Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, arrested the doctor after the flag was raised outside his home in the Saudi city of Jeddah.
The doctor who was unaware of what the flag symbolized, claimed he purchased the flag because his child thought the colors were pretty.
The doctor was released on bail after agreeing to remove the flag.
