The state run Syrian Arab News Agency – SANA – launched a Hebrew website on Sunday, seeking to influence Israelis.
The level of writing is understandable, though riddled with errors.
“Our objective is to reach the largest number of people possible and to clarify Syria’s image,” Ahmad Dawa, the director general of SANA told AFP on Monday.
Israel and Syria are officially at war and the website seems to be an attempt for the regime to spread its propaganda into Israel.
SANA, who also launched a website in Farsi and Dawa, said each site employed six people.
The Syrian news agency also has websites in Arabic, English, Russian, Spanish, Chinese, and Turkish.
