A clash between Turkish soldiers and Kurdish rebels in southeastern Turkey left three soldiers dead Friday, Turkey's military and media said.
Private television channel CNN-Turk said one of the soldiers was an army major and the other two were privates. It said the clash took place on Mt. Cudi, near the Iraqi border but did not say if any rebels were killed.
Meanwhile, Turkey's state-run Anatolia news agency said Turkish warplanes bombed rebel bases in Hakurk and Amedi regions in northern Iraq on Friday, starting at 1600 GMT.
Firat, a pro-Kurdish news agency based in Europe, confirmed the bombing, citing local sources without naming them.
