Senior Fatah official Abbas Zaki said on Thursday that if the Palestinian people want to start a third intifada this weekend, the Palestinian Authority won't be able to stop them.
During an interview with Army Radio, Zaki said the Palestinian leadership "could not silence the Palestinian street after it saw the achievements of other people" in the Middle East.

Zakki said that the Palestinian people would decide whether or not to launch an intifada "according to how hopeful they are" about the possibility of renewed peace talks.
He also discussed captive soldier Gilad Schalit, saying that Fatah is "against keeping people in prisons. That is why we shall demand the release of all 5,800 Palestinian prisoners."
"We will welcome any exchange deal for Shalit," Zaki said.
