An Army soldier was killed when the vehicle he was riding in was hit by a roadside bomb, the US military said Monday, bringing to ten the number of US troops killed in Iraq since Friday. The Baghdad-based soldier died late Sunday night on the outskirts of the capital, the military said. That followed the deaths earlier Sunday of two Marines assigned to Regimental Combat Team 5, killed in fighting in Iraq's volatile al-Anbar province, the US military said Monday. No further details were released and the names of the soldier and Marines were being withheld pending notification of their families.
