Hezbollah informed US ambassador to Lebanon Elizabeth H. Richard that Colin Emery, a Jewish American who allegedly stole across Israel's northern border to Lebanon on January 15, is being held captive by the Lebanese intelligence service after he was captured on Thursday, the Cleveland Jewish News reported.
Emery was allegedly captured by Hezbollah forces after he managed to cross from Israel to Lebanon. The Lebanese army confirmed that they have him in custody.
Hezbollah announced on social media that Emery was arrested in the city of Tyre and that he is an American Jew. He allegedly crossed into Lebanon via the village of Ayta ash Shab, the same village from which a Hezbollah unit attacked IDF forces in 2006, sparking the Second Lebanon War.

The IDF, Lebanese army units and Hezbollah each conducted extensive searches for Emery after his entry into Lebanon became known. It remains unclear what motivated Emery to cross into Lebanon.
