Yemeni police kill 2 al-Qaida suspects in San'a raid

Yemeni police have killed two suspected al-Qaida members and arrested a third during a raid in the country's capital, San'a.
An interior ministry statement said police on Monday stormed a house where "four al-Qaida members" were meeting, and an "exchange of fire" ensued.
The statement said Salem Mohammed Muqsef, a Saudi national wanted both by Riyadh and San'a, and a Saudi-born citizen of Yemen, Badr Saleh Mushra, died in the shooting.
Police said a third suspect - Abdul-Rahman Ali Mohammed al-Ghurabi, also a Yemeni born in Saudi Arabia - was arrested. The house's owner and fourth suspect, Musaed Ahmed Naji al-Barbari, managed to flee.
Yemen has an active al-Qaida presence despite government efforts to destroy the network.
