Comedian and cast member of Israeli satire show “Eretz Nehederet” Yaron Berlad was arrested this week on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl.
Berlad was questioned Monday night by detectives from the Hadera police station, and released after a few hours to house arrest for five days.
The girl reportedly told police that she was assaulted while in Berlad's car, and managed to flee the car.
Berlad has denied the accusations against him, saying that “I hope I'll be able to explain my side as soon as possible.”
He also said that the girl, who he knew for a couple months had told him she was of age.
Berlad has been suspended from the cast of Eretz Nehederet until further notice, according to the program's production.
