Danino's car runs red light, hits motorcyclist

Police chief suspends personal driver after video showed him run a red light and hit a motorcycle rider.

National Police Chief Inspector General Yochanan Danino suspended his personal driver on Monday after a video was released showing the driver run through a red light in south Tel Aviv and collide into a motorcyclist last Thursday.
The motorcyclist was lightly injured in the incident.
Danino was in the back seat of the car when the accident at the corner of Herzl and happened, and was on his way to the Tel Aviv District Police headquarters after a meeting with the head of the National Football Federation.
Danino stayed in the car for security reasons, while his driver, a trained nurse, gave the man first aid.
At the time, police announced that there had been an accident in south Tel Aviv involving Danino's car, in which a motorcyclist was hurt. They gave no further details only that an investigation had been launched. On Monday, after the video was released, police announced that the driver has been put on leave until the investigation is complete.
While in the video it can't be seen if the light is red or not, the southbound traffic is at a dead stop when Danino's car enters the intersection, where it collides with the motorcyclist, who is part of the oncoming traffic.
