FM's lawyer: Lieberman will not be indicted

Case will be closed after hearings, presentation of proof to attorney-general, Lieberman's lawyer claims after announced indictment.

Foreign Minsiter Avigdor Lieberman's lawyer, Yaron Kostelitz, said on Thursday that his client will not be indicted.
"We will present our claims, and the case will be closed," Kostelitz told Army Radio. "The story is baseless."

"I am convinced that we just need to be patient," the lawyer explained. "We will get material, and explain ourselves to the attorney-general's office. After that, I am convinced, I hope and believe that they will be convinced not to indict Lieberman."
After months of delay, Attorney- General Yehuda Weinstein informed Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Wednesday that he planned to file an indictment against him, subject to a hearing, on charges of fraud, breach of trust, obtaining something through deceit, money-laundering and witness harassment.
According to the draft indictment, Lieberman is suspected of receiving millions of dollars from private business people, through straw companies, between the years 2001 and 2008, while he was a member of Knesset and a cabinet minister.
