J'lem police arrest 4 minors on suspicion of killing Arab

Remand of four suspects, aged 16- 17, extended; Jerusalem district attorney to indict them soon.

Jerusalem Police announced on Wednesday that they had recently apprehended four minors from the capital and surrounding settlements on suspicion of stabbing a 24-year-old Arab man to death in a brawl in downtown Jerusalem nearly two weeks ago.
Hussam Hasan was stabbed to death on Friday night when a fight broke out between Jews and Arabs in the downtown area. Another Arab man was lightly wounded in the fight.

The remand of the four suspects, aged 16- 17, has been extended and the Jerusalem district attorney will soon indict them.
According to police, two of the suspects attacked the two Arabs who were strolling down Rehov Bianchini. Another two suspects joined the attack, and one of them cut Hasan with a razor. The four fled the scene, but the lightly wounded friend managed to identify two of the suspects, who were arrested at the scene.
The two told investigators they had returned to pick up the prime suspect’s razor, which was at the crime scene along with a pair of glasses.
The third suspect was picked up by police at the yeshiva he attends following an investigation, and a few days ago the fourth turned himself in to police.
The prime suspect told police he had bought the razor at a barber shop a few hours before the attack, but had no plan to use it the way he did. The crime was reenacted by three of the suspects.
