The water level in Lake Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) rose 12 centimeters over the weekend, reaching 211.76 meters below sea-level.The lake's water level is just above the Water Authority's "bottom red line," which is 213 meters below sea-level.This is the first time this year that the Kinneret's water level is within 2.96 meters of being considered full.The Water Authority stated on Sunday that in the Hermon region the weekend rainfall reached a volume of 200 millimeters.In the Golan region, there was between 80-120 millimeters of rainfall over the weekend.The country's three main water sources – the Kinneret, the mountain aquifers and coastal aquifers have experienced unusual lows due to an extended drought over the last seven years.No rainfall was expected in the coming days. Temperatures were expected to rise, but to remain unseasonably cool, the Israel Meteorological Service forecasted on Sunday.
